Transitioning to secondary school is an exciting milestone, and at Burdekin Catholic High School, we are committed to making it a smooth and enjoyable journey for both students and parents.
We invite all Year 5 & 6 students from the Burdekin region to experience a fun-filled day of hands-on educational activities, designed to introduce them to high school life. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to explore new subjects, make new friends, and feel confident as they take their first steps into secondary school.

What's in store for Taster Day
- Getting to know Burdekin Catholic High School
- Fun 'getting to know you' games
- Meet our current students and tour the school
- Hands-on projects in all curriculum areas - experience our classrooms
- Q&A session with teachers and students
- Engaging educational rotations
Taster Day Schedule
- Drop off time: 9.15am
- Lunch: pies, sausage rolls, fruit
- Afternoon tea: fruit, zooper doopers and a small pack of chips/popcorn
- Bring: Hat & water bottle
- Wear: current school sports uniform
- Pick up time: 2.30pm
