Transitioning to secondary school is an exciting milestone, and at Burdekin Catholic High School, we are committed to making it a smooth and enjoyable journey for both students and parents.

We invite all Year 5 & 6 students from the Burdekin region to experience a fun-filled day of hands-on educational activities, designed to introduce them to high school life. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to explore new subjects, make new friends, and feel confident as they take their first steps into secondary school.

What's in store for your child

As soon as you arrive at BCHS, our welcoming staff and students will be there to greet you and answer any questions you may have. 

What's in store for Taster Day

• Getting to know Burdekin Catholic High School
• Fun 'getting to know you' games
• Meet our current students and tour the school
• Hands-on projects in all curriculum areas - experience our classrooms
• Q&A session with teachers and students
• Engaging educational rotations

Taster Day Schedule

• Drop off time: 9.15am
• Lunch: pies, sausage rolls, fruit
• Afternoon tea: fruit, zooper doopers and a small pack of chips/popcorn
• Bring: Hat & water bottle
• Wear: current school sports uniform
• Pick up time: 2.30pm
